Earning Trust

Earning Trust

February 01, 20242 min read

This week I was doing an in-home consultation with a homeowner who was at her wit’s end with the state of her son’s bedroom. As I took in the overcrowded bookshelves, the stuffed closet, and the floor covered with shoes, clothes, and toys, her 12-year-old son hurried down the hall toward his room. He was frantically gesturing to his mom and whispered, “What if she sees my underwear?!”

His comment made an impression on me. Inviting a professional organizer into your home requires so much trust. To get to this point, a client has come to terms with the effect clutter is having in their life and they have decided to ask for help. Then they have a stranger in their home – looking at all their personal belongings. Like possibly their underwear…

As a professional organizer, the service I provide is about a relationship. Confidentiality is more than a line in my contract, and I know that trust is something to be earned and built upon. During our meetings, I will take time to get to know your situation and learn what you want to achieve from working with me. I will never try to push a service on you that you don’t need. I will show up for our appointments on time, and I will follow through with my commitments to you. Most importantly, I will listen and ask for your feedback, to ensure we are accomplishing your goals.

You don’t have to be embarrassed about the chaos or tidy up before I come over for your free consultation. It’s best if your home is in its normal condition so that I have a clearer picture of your challenges. Then I can develop solutions that will work for the way you live.

If you are ready to tackle the clutter that is causing you stress, contact me. You can start living your organized life, today.
